An official electoral register is kept for each constituency. It lists all citizens who are entitled to vote on election day. In principle, persons entitled to vote who are registered in the municipality on the 42nd day before the election with their main residence are entered on the electoral register of their own motion. The municipality will send you an election notification no later than the 21st day before the election. If you have not received an election notification until the 21st day before the election, you should immediately check with your municipality whether you are on the electoral roll. If this is not the case, you can apply for registration.
