Apply for parental allowance

Parental allowance is a support for parents after the birth of a child. Parental allowance replaces part of the lost income if you want to be there for your child after birth and interrupt or restrict your professional work. If your child is born after 1 July 2015, you have the option to choose between the receipt of the previous parental allowance (basic parental allowance) and the receipt of Parental BenefitPlus or to combine the two. As parents, you can decide for yourself who is claiming the parental allowance for what period. In the application, you must indicate for which months of your child's life you would like to apply for parental allowance and which subscription option (basic parental allowance / parental allowance Plus) you choose. Retroactive payments are granted only for the last 3 months of life prior to receipt of the application. Basic parental allowance can only be obtained within the first 14 months of the child's life. Parental benefit Plus can also be obtained beyond the first 14 months of life. The basic parental allowance and the parental allowance Plus are also paid to parents who are not in employment. The basic parental allowance for non-employed persons is at least 300.00 euros per month, the parental allowance Plus 150.00 euros per month.
