You can apply for funding for major international and national sporting events in Schleswig-Holstein. In particular, you can receive funding for events of international significance, such as World and European Championships, international qualifying tournaments, or final rounds.

Outstanding national sporting events that are expected to attract significant media and spectator interest due to the participation of top athletes are also eligible for funding. Additionally, events featuring innovative concepts or serving as flagship events meet the funding criteria.

Financial support is provided as a non-repayable grant, covering up to 50 percent of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of 250,000 euros per project.

The minimum grant amount is 25,000 euros per project. A co-payment of at least 10 percent of eligible expenses is required.

Eligible expenses include, in particular, licensing fees and association dues paid to international and national federations, provided they were a prerequisite for being awarded the right to host the event. They also include compensation for volunteer helpers and the rental and preparation of the competition venue. The purchase or rental of necessary competition equipment is also included. Furthermore, expenses for logistics, security, public relations, and marketing are eligible for funding. Expenses for prizes, office and administrative supplies, as well as expenses for the acquisition of musical performance rights (GEMA) are included in your eligible expenses. In addition, expenses for the use of services provided by individuals (fee, service, or work contracts), expenses for ticketing, doping controls, and official ceremonies are covered. Expenses for travel to and from the event, as well as lodging costs for staff members and expenses for transportation services, on-call services during the event for staff members, and transportation are also eligible for funding. Furthermore, expenses for an appropriate supporting program—up to a maximum of 10% of total eligible expenses—as well as entry fees and prize money are considered eligible expenses.
