Funding is provided for measures in the following three areas:
- European affairs:
- Informing the public about the development of the European Union, including its historical, societal, cultural, social, economic, and political contexts
- Strengthening public dialogue on the future of the European Union in accordance with the principles of the Bavarian Constitution, the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany, and the European Treaties
- International Relations
- Fostering Bavaria’s relations with foreign countries and regions
- Examining general developments in foreign and security policy
- Promoting the German language and German minorities abroad
- Promoting and presenting Bavaria’s cultural identity abroad
- Development cooperation
- Supporting selected countries in their development and self-reliance, as well as
- mitigating the causes of displacement on the ground, in a manner that meaningfully complements the programs of the European Union and the federal government
- Domestic Development Policy Work
- Raising awareness of global development interconnections, interdependencies, and responsibilities
