• You want to work as a medical-technical radiology assistant in Germany.
• You have a comparable professional qualification from a third country
• Their professional qualifications are equivalent.
  • The professional qualification is equivalent if there are no significant differences between your professional qualification and the German professional qualification.
• You are reliable for work and have no criminal record.
• You can work mentally and physically in the profession.
• You have German language skills at the required level. This is usually level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The permit procedure also includes an assessment of equivalence (recognition procedure). You can request a separate notification of the assessment results.

On January 1, 2023, training programs for medical technology professions were reformed in Germany. The new law governing professions in medical technology applies. The profession based on this law is called "Medical Technologist for Radiology" or "Medical Technologist for Radiology." There is a transitional period for the recognition of foreign professional qualifications based on the old law governing technical assistants in medicine. Until December 31, 2026, foreign professional qualifications may still be temporarily recognized as "Medical-Technical Radiology Assistant." The responsible authority will advise you.
