If you wish to re-register minor children up to the age of 16 without both legal guardians, please contact the relevant authority by telephone in advance.
If you want to re-register your minor child, who has previously lived with both parents in a main residence, into your new main residence without the other parent, you will need the consent of the other parent, a written agreement on the child's center of life or a family court decision on the transfer of sole custody.
The same applies if you wish to change the sole or main residence of your minor child from the residence of one parent to the residence of the other parent.
From the age of 16, minors can register their change of address without the consent of their legal guardians.
For spouses, life partners and family members with the same moving details (date of moving in and previous and current residences), registration by one of the persons required to register is sufficient.
Married couples can register their partner in a shared apartment without a power of attorney, but only by presenting their identity card.
If you own a car, you must also have your address changed on the registration certificate part I (formerly vehicle registration document).
