Would you like to draw attention to an issue that should be given more attention by the state parliament? Then write to the Petitions Committee of the Schleswig-Holstein State Parliament.

Whether it is a complaint or a suggestion - your petition will be taken seriously. The committee carefully examines every request, obtains statements from the relevant authorities and clarifies the facts.

If it turns out that your petition is justified, the committee recommends changing decisions or implementing proposals. You will always receive a written response.

Your petition can make a difference: it can help to uncover grievances, improve the law and bring the administration closer to the people. Above all, petitions strengthen the exchange between you - the people of Schleswig-Holstein - and politicians.

This depends on the individual case and is at the discretion of those who contact the Petitions Committee (petitioners). It is advisable to enclose a copy of the contested administrative decision or notice with the petition.

A petition must be in writing, show the name and address of the addressee and be signed by hand. A petition cannot be submitted by e-mail. A form for submitting a petition is available.

Hints

The office of the Petitions Committee offers regular consultation hours at the State House - always on the first Tuesday of the month from 8-9 a.m. and 4-5 p.m. (by prior appointment). Here you can get advice and submit your petition in person.

None - but the procedure before the Petitions Committee has no suspensive effect and cannot replace the legal remedies and appeals permitted against official decisions, such as objections and legal action. The applicable deadlines must be observed independently of the petition procedure.
