You can submit your application for a one-time retake of the language course online or by mail to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
An authorized agency can also submit the application on your behalf.
Submit your application online:
- Fill out the online application to repeat the language course once for a maximum of 300 class hours.
- If you are also applying for an exemption from course fees in your application, upload the required documentation, such as proof of your receipt of basic income support.
- Log in with your user account.
- If you are submitting the application on your own behalf, confirm your login using the online ID function of your national ID card or your electronic residence permit with a PIN, or your tax administration software certificate (ELSTER). Submit the application online.
- If you are submitting the application as an authorized entity, confirm your login using “My Business Account” and your ELSTER organizational certificate. Submit the application online.
- The BAMF will review your application and contact you if there are any questions or missing documents.
- You will receive a written decision by mail regarding the approval or rejection of your application.
Application by mail:
- You can either fill out the form on the BAMF website or download it and then fill it out.
- Print out the form and sign it.
- Send the form by mail to the BAMF regional office responsible for your case. If you are also applying for a waiver of course fees in your application, please include the required supporting documents.
- The BAMF will review your application and contact you if there are any questions or missing documents.
- You will receive a written decision by mail regarding the approval or denial of your application.
