  • If the owner no longer has any interest in his or her vehicle, the municipality acquires ownership after 6 weeks. The vehicles considered lost property will either be disposed of or released for auction.

Objects acquired at the auction belong definitively to the purchaser.

Possible ownership rights to vehicles can only be asserted before the auction, a notice of ownership during the auction is no longer possible.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to pay by EC card at the auction. Auctioned vehicles will only be handed over for cash and must be taken along immediately.

  • As an impaired person (known as a damaged person), you receive curative treatment for health damage that has been recognised as a consequence of an injury or has been caused by a recognised consequence of an injury. The purpose of curative treatment is to:

    • To eliminate or improve health impairments or impairments of occupational or earning capacity caused by them,
    • to reduce suffering,
    • to avoid, overcome or reduce the need for care or to prevent it from becoming worse,
    • to remedy physical ailments
    • alleviate the consequences of the injury
    • or to enable the greatest possible participation in life in society.

As a severely disabled person, you will also receive treatment for health problems that are not recognised as the result of an injury. However, this comprehensive entitlement does not apply if you have corresponding claims against another social insurance institution (e.g. health insurance fund). Restrictions also apply, for example, if you exceed certain income limits.

In addition, you and your dependants may be entitled to sickness benefits. However, your entitlement to sickness treatment is excluded if you already have a corresponding claim against another social insurance institution (for example, health insurance fund). Restrictions also apply to certain income limits, among other things.

Benefits for curative and medical treatment are generally provided as benefits in kind.

  • Sickness benefit is intended to compensate the insured person * the loss of earnings. The duration and amount of sick pay are prescribed by law.

In the event of illness, you as an employee will continue to be paid your salary in accordance with the provisions of labour law (continued payment of remuneration in the event of illness, generally for six weeks). After this period, legally insured persons may be entitled to sickness benefit if they are unable to work for a longer period of time or if they are treated as an inpatient in a hospital or in a preventive care or rehabilitation facility.

Sickness benefit amounts to 70 percent of gross pay (insofar as it is subject to the calculation of contributions) up to a maximum of 90 percent of net pay. The entitlement to sickness benefit exists for a maximum of 78 weeks within each 3-year period of incapacity for work due to the same illness.

If another illness occurs during the incapacity for work, the benefit period will not be extended. After the three years, you can only receive sickness benefit again for the same illness if, in the meantime, you have been fit for work and gainfully employed for at least six months or have been available to the employment service.

Caution. The insurance relationship existing when the entitlement to sickness benefit arises determines who is entitled to sickness benefit and to what extent.

To make up the difference between sickness benefit and net pay, private health insurance companies offer daily allowance insurance.

As soon as you receive a pension due to full reduction in earning capacity or disability, a full pension due to old age, a pension or an early retirement pension or comparable benefits, the entitlement to sickness benefit ends from the start of these benefits.
