Assistance for the continuation of the budget shall be provided where a budget is at risk in its continuation.
The content of the services includes personal support and the performance of necessary domestic activities. Personal care is particularly necessary for children to be cared for. Ultimately, this includes everything that a person who has now been prevented from playing with the children and supervising school work - for example, through illness, imprisonment, recovery measures or even death - has done.
Aid for the continuation of the budget is a secondary aid. It is only granted insofar as non-priority assistance, such as assistance for care under Chapter 7 SGB XII, assistance for education in accordance with Section 27 sGB VIII or health insurance benefits are considered. Health insurance companies, for example, may pay for household assistance if a child under the age of 12 or a disabled child who needs help lives in the household. Only if the benefits of the health insurance fund do not help or are not provided, can the benefits of social assistance begin.
As a rule, aid for the continuation of the budget is to be granted only temporarily. An end to the emergency must be foreseeable. In the event of the death of the person in charge of the household, this may be the case if the family has to make its own decisions about the future of life during a transitional period of assistance to keep the budget. After the end of the transitional period, (permanent) educational assistance under Section 27 et seq. s. SGB VIII or possible care assistance may be considered for children to be cared for.
