  • The wide range of individual school types and courses offered by vocational schools opens up numerous different educational and qualification opportunities for young people. The following school types and courses of education exist:

    For young people without a school leaving certificate:

    • Vocational preparation year (BVJ)
    • Vocational school (vocational training)

    For young people with a secondary school leaving certificate (Hauptschule or Realschule):

    • Vocational school (vocational training)
    • Vocational school

    For young people with a Realschule certificate:

    • Higher vocational school
    • Technical secondary school
    • Vocational high school
    • Technical college (prerequisite is a completed relevant vocational training)

    For young people with special educational needs:

    • Vocational preparation year (BVJ B)
    • Vocational school (vocational training)

    Depending on the previous qualification, it is possible to acquire a qualification equivalent to the Hauptschulabschluss or Realschulabschluss, the Fachhochschulreife or the general university entrance qualification in addition to the general education classes and the theoretical and practical qualification.

  • In Thuringia, employment in the civil service by establishing a civil service relationship is tied by law to the possession of certain professional qualifications. If you are a national of

    • of a member state of the European Union,

    • of another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area,

    • of another Contracting State to which the Federal Republic of Germany and the European Union have granted a legal right to recognition of professional qualifications by treaty,

    you have acquired professional qualifications that enable you to work in the public service there, you must have these qualifications recognized in Thuringia (as a career qualification) in order to be able to be employed in Germany in a civil service position corresponding to your previous profession. To this end, the equivalence of your professional qualifications with a Thuringian career qualification must be established. If you wish to work as a public health officer in a public health office (in Thuringia), you must have a further training equivalent to that of a specialist in the field of public health or a qualification equivalent to a six-month public health officer course.

  • With a university degree in early education, kindergarten, preschool education, elementary education or childhood education obtained abroad, you can apply for recognition as a childhood educator (B.A.) or childhood educator (B.A.) in Germany.

  • If you want to travel together with your children and decide to spend a recreational stay in a family holiday center, you can receive funding under certain conditions.

  • In Kindertagesreinrichtungen werden Kinder während des Tages gebildet, erzogen und betreut. Kindertageseinrichtungen richten sich entweder vorwiegend an eine bestimmte Altersgruppe, oder sie bieten eine erweiterte Altersmischung. Einrichtungen, die überwiegend Kinder aus einer Altersgruppe aufnehmen, sind: Kinderkrippen (0-3 Jahre), Kindergärten (3-6 Jahre) und Kinderhorte (6-14 Jahre). Altersgemischte Einrichtungen sind beispielsweise Häuser für Kinder, deren Angebot sich an Kinder verschiedener Altersgruppen richtet (0-14 Jahre). Daneben bestehen Sonderformen, z.B. Tagesstätten in Verbindung mit Schulen und heilpädagogische Tagesstätten der Erziehungshilfe, Tagesheime. Wegen Unfallversicherungsschutz siehe Unfallversicherung.

    Für einen bedarfsgerechten Ausbau der Kinderbetreuungsangebote sind in erster Linie die Kommunen zuständig. Der Freistaat Bayern unterstützt diese durch die Gewährung von Zuschüssen. Kindertageseinrichtungen tragen erheblich zur Vereinbarkeit von Familie und Erwerbstätigkeit und zur Verwirklichung von Bildungs- und Lebenschancen der Kinder bei. Eine weitere familienähnliche Form der Kindertagesbetreuung ist die Kindertagespflege.

    Unter bestimmten Voraussetzungen besteht die Möglichkeit einer Kostenübernahme der Elternbeiträge durch den Träger der wirtschaftlichen Jugendhilfe (Jugendamt).

    Gemeinden, Träger der Kindertageseinrichtungen (z.B. Verbände der freien Wohlfahrtspflege, Elterninitiativen, freie Träger), Fachberatung für Kindertageseinrichtungen, Jugendämter bei den Landratsämtern und kreisfreien Städten

  • Municipalities and counties can offer a social and/or family pass. You can then apply for this.

  • When your child becomes of school age, you must register him or her at the elementary school.
