Main requirements for business users: The particulate matter limit value for solid fuel boilers imposed by Germany continues to apply.

The particulate matter limit value for the placement on the market of solid fuel boilers set out in the Regulation with regard to ecodesign requirements for solid fuel boilers, which has applied throughout Europe since 1 January 2020, is less demanding than that specified in the First Regulation implementing the Federal Immission Control Act (Germanys Regulation on small-sized combustion plants).

European regulation: No specific regulations apply to bicycles, which means that they are covered by the general product safety rules.

Transposition in Germany: Road Traffic Licensing Regulation (StVZO)

Main requirements for business users: A bicycle must have two independent brakes, a clearly audible bell, one illuminating device and several reflectors. Illuminating devices are only approved for use on the roads if they display a test mark from the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) (a wavy line, a capital letter K and a five-digit number).

A pedelec is permitted to have an electric support motor with a maximum output of 250 W and to reach speeds of up to 25 km/h.

Faster pedelecs or electric mopeds require a type approval from the

Federal Motor Transport Authority.

Manufacturers duty to provide information:

The manufacturer or the manufacturers authorised representative must forward to the competent Land authority (only manufacturers based in Germany) and the European Commission a copy of the EC declaration of conformity for each equipment/machine type. The entry of machine data by the manufacturer into the KarLA database complies with this national obligation. The data themselves can be entered following registration as a manufacturer.

The European obligation can be met by ensuring that an entry is also made in the Noise Database itself. The database can be found under EC Declaration of conformity.
