Purpose

Grants are intended to support private sponsors of school expenses in the financing of textbooks.

Object

Private alternative schools are free to grant free learning materials. Provided that learning materials are granted free of charge in the same way as at public schools, they receive corresponding state funding.

Type and amount

The state grants the providers of these schools lump-sum allocations towards the costs per pupil and school year - depending on the type of school - in accordance with Art. 22 Para. 1 No. 1 and No. 2 BaySchFG. For private elementary school, secondary schools and special schools, the grant is increased by 50% (Art. 46 para. 1 sentence 3 BaySchFG). The grant calculation is based on the official pupil numbers of the previous school year.

Recipients of grants

Private alternative schools that grant free learning materials in the same way as public schools can receive corresponding grants.
