The driver card is used to record driving times and rest periods for the commercial transport of goods and passengers.

The driver card is valid for 5 years from the date of issue. You can have the driver card renewed on application. You must do this no later than 15 working days before the card expires. If your driver card has already expired, you must make another initial application.

Your renewed driver card will be valid immediately after the expiration date of the old card. You must carry the expired driver card for at least 28 days in addition to the new card.

The driver card issued to you personally may only be used by you. It always remains your property, even if your employer has paid for the driver card. In principle, they are not obliged to pay the costs.
