Preconditions

Hints
The driving license office is prohibited from issuing a new driving license before the court-imposed suspension period has expired. Any necessary medical-psychological examination is also only possible after the expiry of the court-ordered suspension period. In the event of a revocation, no motor vehicle may be driven until the driving license office has issued a new driving license.
There is no automatic entitlement to a new driver's license after the suspension period has expired. The driving license office checks and decides whether and under what conditions a new driving license can be issued.
If there are doubts about suitability, a medical-psychological examination (MPU) or a specialist medical examination will be ordered. A practical test must be taken if there are additional qualification concerns.
What is the procedure after a disqualification due to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs?
Please contact the driving license office and find out what measures are required in your individual case.
What is the procedure after a disqualification due to driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 1.6 or more per mille?
A medical-psychological examination is mandatory. Depending on the results of the examination, it may also be necessary to attend a refresher course. Please contact the driving license office to clarify your individual case.
What is the procedure for revocation due to failure to attend an advanced training course?
Your license will only be reinstated after you have attended an advanced training seminar. Please contact the driving license office afterwards to find out all the requirements in your individual case.
This list is not exhaustive. Further information can be obtained from the driving license office.
