Before ordering traffic law measures (e.g. erection of traffic signs) by the lower road traffic authority, the legal requirements of Section 45 of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) and the General Administrative Regulation on the Road Traffic Regulations (VwV-StVO) and the relevant guidelines are examined. In consultation with the respective road construction authority and the police regarding the type and scope of the measure, the lower road traffic authority will issue a corresponding traffic order if this proves necessary.
