Housing benefit is intended to enable you to live appropriately and in a way that is suitable for your family.
You can apply for housing benefit as:
- Rent subsidy for tenants
- subtenants of living space
- for residents of a residential home
- Residents of residential homes within the meaning of the relevant state law; this also includes people with disabilities who are not only temporarily admitted for the provision of integration assistance in special forms of housing.
- Burden allowance
- for owners of their own home or condominium
You are not entitled to housing benefit if the costs of your accommodation are already covered by other social benefits, such as
- Citizen's allowance
- Basic income support in old age
- in the event of reduced earning capacity
- benefits for living expenses
- Other transfer benefits for which your accommodation costs are taken into account
