Parental contributions are charged for the use of childcare services in daycare facilities and childminders. Upon application, the parental contribution for parents with a low income for the attendance of the child/children in a child day care facility or child day care is fully or partially waived or paid by the municipality/city/district. If the parents receive a citizen's allowance, assistance with living expenses or basic income support in old age or in the event of reduced earning capacity in accordance with SGB XII, benefits in accordance with the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act, child supplement or housing benefit, the parental contribution will be waived or paid in full on application.
