Anyone who wishes to hunt in Germany must be able to present a hunting license issued in their name (Section 15(1) of the Federal Hunting Act).
The hunting license is issued by the authority responsible for the applicant’s place of residence as an annual hunting license valid for up to three hunting years (Section 11(4) of the Federal Hunting Act) or as a daily hunting license valid for fourteen consecutive days, in accordance with standardized forms.
The hunting license is valid throughout the entire territory of Germany (Section 15(2) of the Federal Hunting Act).
The initial issuance of a hunting license is contingent upon the applicant having passed a hunting examination within the scope of this Act (Section 15(5) of the Federal Hunting Act).
