The path to a successful application can vary depending on the desired degree program. The majority of admission-restricted degree programs are coordinated by the DoSV. The DoSV is carried out by the Foundation for University Admissions on behalf of the universities and coordinates the application process for degree programs with local admission restrictions. In addition, the central allocation procedure (ZV) for the nationally restricted degree courses in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and pharmacy is integrated into the DoSV.
DoSV
The DoSV begins with the application phase. If you would like to apply for a participating degree program, you must register in the DoSV application portal. After registering, you can apply for up to twelve courses and then prioritize your applications, i.e. put them in the order that best suits your preferences. During the coordination phase, the university will determine whether you can receive an offer of admission. This is followed by the coordinated succession phase. During this phase, vacant study programs are allocated to applicants who have not yet been able to gain admission. The allocation of study places ends at the end of the coordinated succession phase.
ZV
The application procedure for medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and pharmacy is carried out centrally via hochschulstart. In order to apply, you must first register on the DoSV application portal. Once you have registered, you will be redirected to the "AntOn" (= Application Online) portal via the relevant study program. There you must complete your application form. You must then send the printed application with the required application documents by post to hochschulstart.
Documents
In the ZV, the application for admission must be received electronically via the web portal of the Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung within the application deadline. The printed and signed application form, together with the documents required as proof, must also be received by the Foundation by this time. Otherwise, the Foundation determines the form of the applications and the documents required as proof and their form. In the case of locally admission-restricted degree programs, the respective university decides on the documents to be submitted and their form.
If there are local admission restrictions in individual cases and the degree programs are not coordinated via the DoSV, please contact the university in question for more information on how to apply.
The online application via the Campus Management System TUMonline is the first step in applying for a study program at the Technical University of Munich. The application assistant will guide you through the online application step by step. After completing the online application, you will receive an application for admission or enrollment, which you must send to the Technical University of Munich by post together with other documents. The exact requirements and necessary documents depend on the course you have chosen and your individual educational background.
Once all documents have been submitted in the correct form and on time, the relevant faculty or institution will check your suitability for admission. Once this examination has been completed, applicants will be informed of the result and, if the result is positive, will be admitted to the course.
