You need a permit if you want to sell hazardous substances or mixtures commercially or make them available to others. This applies to all substances and mixtures listed in the Chemicals Prohibition Ordinance.
No authorisation is required if you are a pharmacist or if you supply the dangerous substances or mixtures exclusively to resellers, professional users or public bodies such as research, testing or teaching institutes.

Preconditions
You must be at least 18 years old and have the necessary expertise in handling hazardous substances and mixtures. You must provide proof of this by holding a valid certificate of expertise. You must also demonstrate the required reliability according to the relevant regulations.
The following also applies to companies:
- Every establishment where dangerous substances or mixtures are sold must employ at least one person who meets these requirements.
- Any changes to this responsible person must be reported to the responsible authority immediately.
Hints
To obtain the permit, you need the necessary expertise. Qualified persons are
- Druggists (under certain conditions),
- Pharmacists,
- Pharmaceutical engineers,
- Pharmaceutical technical assistants,
- Pharmacy assistants,
- certified pest controllers or
- Persons with completed vocational training as pest controllers.
The following fees apply: -
- Permit for the commercial handling of toxic substances: 64 - 199 EUR
- Extension or amendment of the permit, as well as the imposition of conditions: 64 - 199 EUR
- Withdrawal or revocation of the permit: 130 - 383 EUR

You submit your application for permission along with the required documents to the responsible authority.
- The responsible authority will review your application and the submitted documents. If further information or documents are required, they will request them from you.

- You will receive a written notification of the decision and a separate fee notice.
