Bulky waste includes, for example:
- bulky waste
- pieces of furniture
- household appliances, electrical and electronic equipment
- empty boxes
- Household items that do not fit into the garbage containers, such as mattresses, and other
- waste from trade and industry
- everything that fits into the garbage containers (for example, small-sized carpets or rugs)
- garden waste (including larger branches)
- Construction waste (including garden arbors) and wood from outdoor areas
- bags, boxes and cartons filled with waste
- Recyclable materials, such as boxes filled with paper, cardboard or newspapers or empty boxes
- Problem substances, such as filled paint buckets or paint cans
- construction waste (e.g. tile remains)
Your drop-off points for bulky waste, green waste, recyclables and hazardous materials are the recycling centers. You can drop off many things at the recycling centers free of charge.
Bulky waste collection on request:
- standard bulky waste collection service
- 35.00 EUR (up to 8 cubic meters)
- 5.00 EUR for each additional cubic meter
- 7.50 euros per employee and every quarter of an hour for cutting service
- The dismantling service is only available as part of the standard bulk waste collection service. If you want the dismantling service, you must order it.

- 35.00 EUR (up to 8 cubic meters)
- 5.00 EUR for each additional cubic meter
- 78.00 Euro additional fee for the SPRINT service

Procedure
- You can have your bulky waste collected from your home for a fee or take it to the recycling centers yourself free of charge.
- In cases of doubt, you will be asked to provide proof of the origin of the waste. To do this, provide personal information and sign a form, the so-called "tax declaration". By doing so, you confirm that your waste comes from a private household in Hamburg.
- If you would like to have your bulky waste collected, please contact the responsible office by telephone.
- You can dispose of well-preserved furniture via the “gentle disposal” service (please mention this on the phone) and the Stilbruch second-hand goods market (see links).
