Buying medicine in another EU country
You may need to buy prescription medicine from a pharmacy while you are in another EU country . To do this, you should make sure that your prescription includes the right information. The also applies if you want to buy medicine from a pharmacy in your own country with a prescription from a doctor abroad. You should also be aware of rules on pharmacy expenses and how to get a reimbursement.
Medicine that doesn't require a prescription can be bought freely throughout the EU and is not covered here. If you buy medicine online, specific rules apply depending on the country you are in.
